first one

i decided to keep a journal just to record my work outs. ideally by the end of this summer, i'd like to become a lot more muscular, not just in terms of getting more muscle mass, but definition, veins, tonage, et all. blase rele taught me alot bout lifting. the most important thing i learned from him was that originally, whenever i lifted, I was not nearly trying hard enough. each set is supposed to be done so that u can barely do the last rep. and even though i still kinda dont follow that rule now, the idea is still there and it helps me push myself.

i work out at the ymca mostly. even though they have limited free weights (no weights between 12 lb and 30 lb....wtf!?), i like the environment there. not alotta people r there and its just nice. it only cost $67 for 2 months too.

so basically my regiment looks like this 3-4X a week:
40 lb dumbbell chest press - 3 sets (8reps each)
35 lb incline dumbbell chest press - 3 sets (8reps each) * god i fuking hate these*
30 lb dumbbell shoulder lifts - 4 sets (8reps each) * love these*
115 lb back lift - 3 sets
12 lb dumbbell deltoid lifts - 2 sets (12 reps each)
32.5 lb triceps pulls - 3 sets (8-10 reps each)
12.5 X2 lb biceps "21" - 2 sets

my last workout i increased the chest press to 45 lb. i shouldve done that in the beginning but whatever. ive noticed changes in my body lately and i have to say, its one of the most exhilirating feelings. to see ur body change and knowing that u have the potential and power do it with some motivation and effort, its an incredible feeling. i have to say it has really helped with my self confidence. i can see how some people are "addicted" to working out. im going to continue working out this summer. its actually one of the things i look foward to at the end of the day. something to relieve stress and direct my energy into. im most likely going to lift monday, wed, friday, and either saturday/sunday. also, if possible, i plan to swim on one of my off days. i wanna use my moneys worth. haha. i think swimmings good for toning the body, like after u get muscle mass, swimming is good for showing that definition. combined with ultimate, tennis, and basketball almost every other day, i'll be rele physically active, but i like that.

as far as ultimate goes, it really saddens me that i cant jump anymore due to my sprained ankle. its such a bitch becuase whenever i play, the first 15 minutes always hurts and my ankle aches so much. i feel like i lost a good 8 inches on my vert. i think the only way to get that back is to stop playing anything at all for atelast 3 months, but i dont think im willing to do that. i used to be so confident in my air game, but now its like whenever i jump, it jus pains me. on the bright side, i feel like i have become a better ultimate player in general becuase i know how to play right now. i learned that i can play my best if i only play like 7-8 pts a game instead of playing the entire game like i always did in high school. haha, i look at footage and im always poaching, not guarding my man, and not running hard at all. crafty has taught me alot. i hope nyu is a good team next year too.

high hopes

Big Guy Wang is doing a great job over here with much success. Along with Lu, I have also been working out heavily. And to tell the truth, it is quite exhilirating.

I like to alternate my muscle groups every day I weight train. Usually I do one big group and another small group (eg. Chest and triceps / Back and Biceps). When I work out each muscle area, I usually try to "kill it" (close to 12 sets of each). Protein powder / bars help your muscles recover for sure.

To all the builders out there - keep a buildin'
